Rickity Bridge

It’s barely been over a week since I’ve been back from Sangkhlaburi and already it feels like a whole life-time away. Kevin and I went on a 7 hour – up/down, left/right, swaying trip to the Thai / Burmese border in order to film a mini-documentary about The Children of the Forest. It opened my eyes in many different ways to say the least.

Even though the whole trip was beyond surreal (from the poverty, the monsoon, the conditions) there were parts that stuck out even more, such as the image of the man that got nailed by the car on the highway there, or when the Mon villagers ran to check on the farmer that got struck by lightning or something as simple as a adorable little girl that was abandoned by her parents at such a young age.

Sangkhlaburi is a cute town and I am glad I got to go and see its charm. You guys best check it out soon! We started seeing those dreaded “photo tours” hanging out there towards the end.
